Give PKD the Bump

On Friday 30 September and Saturday 1 October 2016, we launched our first-ever European PKD Awareness & Fundraising Campaign, organised by PKD patient organisations in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and UK.

Held over two days, the European Awareness Campaign is designed to spread the word about Polycystic Kidney Disease and raise funds, in an exciting and fun way.

The campaign is called ‘Give PKD the Bump‘. We’re using the symbol of a ‘fist‘ as our central idea. Normal, healthy kidneys are the size of a fist. PKD kidneys can swell up to 4 times in size and 100 times heavier. We want our PKD kidneys to return to normal size and be healthy again. So get your fists out and join us to ‘Give PKD the Bump’!

How you can get involved

Take part in our online fist bumping challenge. Post photos and videos of ‘fist bumping’ to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Think ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ – but without water! Use the hashtag #BumpPKD on your posts and videos so we can gather everything onto a dynamic, global social media wall. Think about unusual places to do your fist bumping and then challenge your friends to Give PKD the Bump too.
